Mission
Blue Sky was born out of a desire to create a sustainable future for our world. Their primary focus is on facilitating physical and spiritual well-being.

Blue Sky’s exceptional holistic approach to massage integrates wellness and nutrition training throughout the program. They emphasize health-care and self-care techniques, styles, and philosophies to help each person and family to develop optimal health within their own boundaries.

Through the most comprehensive course of study available, Blue Sky strives to:

• Graduate massage therapists who really care about people—talented therapists with the perspective to practice the healing art of massage with optimal results for their clients, while receiving a true sense of fulfillment.

• Provide a comprehensive education and experience in traditional therapeutic bodywork techniques coupled with training in a wide range of other treatment modalities.

An Extraordinary Career Choice
Massage therapy is the fastest growing segment of the health care industry today. Career opportunities in this alternative health care field are continuing to grow as health care moves away from an emphasis on multiple medications and back toward a more natural, personal touch.

Upon completion of their program, graduates will be prepared for joy and success in one of today’s most dynamic professions. Many Blue Sky graduates are employed in schools, hospitals, health clubs and in medical and physical therapy offices. Others are self-employed, working out of their own homes or offices.

In addition to exciting career opportunities, massage therapy is a meaningful, rewarding profession that is filled with the satisfaction of directly helping others. It offers a great deal of variety and flexibility in terms of specialties, work settings and hours. And the holistic nature of the profession leads practitioners toward awareness of healthful lifestyles and greater personal development.

Blue Sky has an exemplary reputation in the community and receives numerous announcements of job openings in the greater Milwaukee area and throughout the Midwest. These openings are posted at the school. A file of job opportunities is made available to all students and alumni. Blue Sky graduates succeed!

The History of Blue Sky
Blue Sky School of Professional Massage & Therapeutic Bodywork was founded by Karen and Blair Lewis in 1985 and established as a not-for-profit organization in 1988. What started out as a small school in their home with a class size of six, soon grew to a highly-respected business with classes in Grafton and Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Students listen to Blair In the early years, classes were held in a 2,000 square foot facility in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. In 1995, the school moved to the present location in Grafton, Wisconsin. The new location offers 9,650 square feet of space for classes, student clinic and administration. In the Spring of 2000, Blue Sky opened its first satellite location in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

At Blue Sky, we are proud of our long tradition of excellence in teaching and

of our commitment to personal growth and achievement.

We are dedicated to graduating massage therapists who really care about people—talented therapists with the perspective to practice the healing art of massage with optimal results for their clients, while receiving a true sense of fulfillment.

We provide comprehensive education and experience in traditional therapeutic massage techniques as well as training in a wide range of other treatment modalities.

Educational Goals
Blue Sky’s goal is to provide entry level and mid-level training to prepare each student for a career as a “Massage Therapist and Bodyworker,” and to help heal individuals and families in our global community. The healing process involves four main aspects:

1) Stabilize the client to slow or stop the progression of the condition.
2) Resolve the presenting problem or complaint.
3) Provide training in home-based therapies and self-care techniques for the client.
4) Move the client to a higher level of health with rejuvenation therapies.

Blue Sky knows these things are possible. Years as therapists have shown them that preventative and self-care techniques are equally important for massage therapists to impart to their clients. Therefore, they include them in the curriculum. Your active participation in this 741-hour program will assure you of thorough training in the techniques and principles of massage.

Blue Sky and Golden Ratio
Blue Sky has utilized Golden Ratio tables in our classrooms since the mid-1980’s, before Golden Ratio moved to Montana. We have found that Golden Ratio products maintain high durability through the rigors of everyday school use. Additionally, Golden Ratio has been a leader in massage table innovation and design. Blue Sky has been very pleased with Golden Ratio because of their exceptional customer service team, their strong and durable tables and their innovations in the massage table industry and will continue to employ Golden Ratio massage products. Blue Sky massage and Golden Ratio tables, a combination that simply can’t be beat.
