Founded
in 1931, the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA) is the largest
state association for the chiropractic profession, with a membership
exceeding 4,000. The association is responsible for passage of more
than 80 pro-chiropractic legislative initiatives and is recognized
as the most progressive of state organizations in chiropractic.
For more than ten years, the FCA has worked with the Florida State
Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA) to improve inter-professional
relations between the massage and chiropractic professions in Florida.
In partnership
and cooperation with the FSMTA, the FCA:
1. Presents four license renewal CE programs for Florida massage
therapists, concurrent with its regional chiropractic conventions
and expositions.
2. Provides facilities for chair massage at its conventions, with
massage services rendered by members of the local chapter of FSMTA,
resulting in an excellent networking opportunity for local FSMTA
members.
3. Awards an annual Massage Therapist of the Year Award
to a massage therapist who has contributed exceptionally to improved
communications and relationships between the chiropractic and massage
therapy communities.
4. Publishes a DC-LMT Connection department in its bi-monthly
Journal, educating FCA readers about best methods for working ethically
and professionally with massage therapists.
The Florida Chiropractic Association values its relationship with
the massage community, in the interests of good health care for
all Floridians.
