The Courage to move ahead....
"The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible but these obstacles have never been sufficient reasons to remain ashore. Unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible. It is with an Iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors to meet the shadow future without fear and conquer the unknown. "
Ferdinand Magellan, Explorer (c. 1520)

The days have been difficult since the terrible events of September, 2001. My thoughts are with those whose lives are so tragically affected, the countless people who so bravely provide assistance, and to all my colleagues from the bodywork industry. I have gotten much e-mail from Massage Therapists who have been volunteering their time in providing massage to the rescue workers. Thank you to each and every one of you. It was a proud moment on the Tonight show on Sept. 28 when John Travolta read a list to thank all the brave individuals who have provided assistance during this tragic time, and at the end he said, "We can't forget the Chiropractors and Massage Therapists."

It has been said that America, and indeed the world, has been changed forever. We are all learning to deal with this event and it's aftermath in our own way. I am the first to admit I have had a hard time getting out of my funk and letting go of my fears.

I was at the Florida Capital in Tallahassee Florida on September 11, due to board a plane for Los Angeles that morning. I canceled all my flights for the next month. On October 13, I boarded a plane from Florida to California for the I-SPA conference. The lines were long and the National Guard with rifles took getting used to, but my heart told me it was time to move forward. Many of my friends had taken trips since the airlines resumed flying but this was still a big step for me.

At the I-SPA conference at the opening social event the band opened with “God Bless America.” As over 200 of us held hands, shared tears and sang, I knew I was in the right place.

I would like to end with e-mails friends shared during these trying times to help give me encouragement, have faith, board a plane and move ahead with life!

Thank you and God Bless America,
See you in the Field!

Lynda

"Peace"
I will be at Peace when I choose to be at peace no matter what is going on. Today I am devoted to bringing peace into all situations and experiences.
From Until Today by Iyanla Vanzant

I am faith filled and fear free because I have more than enough of what it takes to make it through the rough times and tight places.

The Power of Attitude
"Our lives are not determined by what happen to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst. A spark that creates extraordinary results."

The Essence of a New Day
"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for a good. What you do today is Important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind. Let it be something good."
